How can I improve indoor air quality at home?
Assess your ventilation situation.
To prevent mould from growing in places where it can’t easily escape (like bathrooms, kitchens and laundries) you can open a window or vent to improve ventilation.
Don’t let water hang around.
Keep bathroom exhaust fans running while you’re showing and for 30 minutes after also.
Use mould-fighting products.
Use mould resisting products or waterproofing paints for problem spots around the house.
Indoor plants
Having indoor plants around the home can help improve air quality by filtering pollutants.
Keep an eye on indoor plants.
Don’t let excess water stagnate in drip trays when you water. A good tip is to add a dash of natural antifungal substance that can hinder mould growth in the plant soil.
Don’t ‘set and forget’ your air conditioner or dehumidifier.
Regularly clean or replace air conditioner filters as required.
