About the role

Based in our National Service team and reporting directly to the Unit Quality Manager, the Unit Quality In-House Technician serves as the technical anchor for our warranty evaluation and continuous product improvement processes.

In this workshop-based role, you will transition away from the road to focus on the physical inspection, assessment, and validation of returned HVAC components. Your expert diagnostic outcomes will directly support warranty decisions, supplier recovery, and future product engineering excellence.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Technical      Diagnostics: Inspecting and testing returned HVAC parts (such as      compressors, PCBs, fan motors, and valves) to determine precise mechanical      and electrical faults.

  • Warranty      Verification: Assessing failure causes to verify warranty eligibility,      clearly distinguishing between manufacturing defects and external factors      like installation faults, misuse, or environmental damage.

  • Evidence      Management: Recording findings with clear, auditable evidence, including      photos, technical notes, and internal system records.

  • Logistical      Supervision: Managing the end-to-end handling of returned parts, covering      receipt, physical inspection, and ultimate disposition.

  • Feedback      Loops: Escalating confirmed product defects to internal engineering and      supplier quality teams and providing detailed technical evidence to      support supplier recovery processes.

About you

We are seeking an analytically minded diagnostic expert who can balance technical precision with clear communication. To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A formal Trade Qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in HVAC service, diagnostics, or technical repair.

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of HVAC systems, with a proven ability to diagnose faults across complex mechanical and electrical systems using testing equipment.

  • A solid understanding of warranty frameworks, failure classification, and the ability to clearly communicate technical findings to internal managers and external stakeholders.

  • Prior experience working with Daikin Air Conditioning products is highly desirable.
