About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Payroll & HR Officer to join our team. In this dual-function role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing end-to-end payroll operations while providing critical support for the recruitment and onboarding of employees at Daikin Australia.

Based in our Chipping Norton NSW, you will ensure employee payroll cycles are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all relevant Australian laws and regulations. Additionally, you will play a key role in the HR team by providing administrative support throughout the talent acquisition lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-End Payroll Processing:     Managing end-to-end weekly payroll, including calculations for wages,      taxes, deductions, allowances, and expenses. This includes processing      terminations, bonus payments, and updating the system for new joiners.

  • HR Administration & Recruitment:     Conducting pre-employment checks (reference, police, and medical checks),      coordinating induction programs, and managing the probation process for      new starters.

  • Compliance & Audit:     Ensuring strict adherence to the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, Tax      Regulations, and Superannuation Act. You will support company audits and      maintain accurate records for WorkCover and ABS returns.

  • System Management & Process      Improvement: Maintaining all aspects of the payroll      and HR systems, including initiating upgrades (Micropay) and implementing      innovative solutions to improve recruitment and payroll business      processes.

  • Reporting & Analysis:     Acting as a data lead within the HR team to provide insights that inform      business decisions and meet regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Customer Service:     Managing payroll and recruitment enquiries with a high level of      confidentiality and professionalism for both internal and external      stakeholders.


About You

You are a highly analytical professional with a proven track record in payroll accuracy and a passion for supporting Human Resources functions.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience: 3      years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a complex industrial,      manufacturing, or multi-site organisation.

  • Technical Skills:     Extensive experience in MicroPay applications. Familiarity with Meridian      and Workday is preferred.

  • Software Proficiency:     Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, with      the ability to summarise data into meaningful recommendations.

  • Knowledge: A      strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation,      superannuation, and award interpretation.

  • Attributes: High      attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to      handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
