In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Service, Marketing, Finance, and more - fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and shared success.


Your role in shaping the future:

As National Business Development Manager – Applied, you will play a pivotal role in driving Daikin’s growth in strategic verticals such as Data Centres, Healthcare, Education, and other key sectors. This is your opportunity to lead a high-performing team, build long-term partnerships, and deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.

Based in our Head Office in Chipping Norton, NSW; You will be responsible for developing and executing national direct sales strategies, managing a team of Business Development Managers, and building strong relationships with end clients, developers, and major stakeholders.


We’re looking for a dynamic leader with:

· A deep understanding of the HVAC industry and applied solutions.

· Proven experience in business development and strategic account management.

· Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

· Providing guidance, coaching, and motivation to drive team performance.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with end clients, developers, and strategic partners.

· Identify and capitalize on emerging trends, customer needs, and market opportunities in strategic verticals.

· Collaborate with Product Management to influence product development and customization for key sectors.

· Prepare accurate sales forecasts and budgets and track performance against targets.

· Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct reviews.

· Represent Daikin Applied at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.


To be successful in this role:

· Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire high-performing teams.

· Strong understanding of customer segmentation and ability to develop innovative growth strategies.

· Extensive experience in the HVAC industry, with advanced knowledge of applied technology -particularly chilled water applications, chillers, and airside solutions.

· Minimum 10 years in technical territory sales/business development.

· Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to implement effective solutions.

· Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

· Background in business development and project management, with the ability to influence and perform under pressure in a target-driven environment.

· A creative approach to problem-solving and a passion for exploring new opportunities.


Assessment:

Candidates will be required to deliver a short 10-minute presentation on topics such as:

· How would you approach building Daikin’s presence in the Data Centre market over the next 3 years.

· What is your strategy for penetrating the Healthcare sector with applied HVAC solutions.
