Job Summary
As an IT Support Level 3 professional, you will play a critical role in providing advanced technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems. You will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues, managing IT infrastructure, and providing guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 support staff. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of our IT environment. You will be working as part of our IT Service Delivery Team, reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Technical Support:
Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
Provide escalation support for Level 2 IT Support.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to servers, storage, networking, and other IT systems.
System Administration
Manage and maintain servers, including updates, patches, and backups.
Configuration, management, and replacement of IT infrastructure devices (e.g., network switches, backup appliances, wireless access points).
Ensure the security and integrity of the IT infrastructure as per internal policies.
Work closely with external service providers and serve as the main escalation point for any wide area network-related issues.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft product suite (e.g., O365/M365, Entra ID, MS Exchange) is highly desirable.
Projects
Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades and deployments.
Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure Manager to identify and implement IT solutions.
Maintain project documentation and timelines.
Documentation and Training:
Create and update technical documentation, including procedures and guidelines.
Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 support staff.
Provide end-user training and support as needed
Monitoring and Optimisation:
Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
Implement performance tuning and optimisation strategies.
Conduct regular system audits and implement best practices.
Ensure timely mitigation of all security patches as per vulnerability assessments.
Customer Service:
Provide high-quality support with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with end-users to understand and address their needs.
Manage and prioritize support tickets related to IT infrastructure to ensure timely resolution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or relevant IT industry certification is highly desirable.
10+ years of experience in IT support, with at least 5+ years in a Level 3 role.
Strong knowledge of Windows server environments.
Proficiency with IT infrastructure devices/networking technologies
Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware highly desirable).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Environment:
Office-based with occasional requirement for on-site support.
May be required for after hours and weekend work for maintenance and urgent issues.
